Jaylen Brown Talks About Bronny James at Lakers Summer League

The Los Angeles Lakers got a lot of negative comments when they picked Bronny James in the 2024 NBA Draft. Bronny is the oldest son of LeBron James. He was chosen with the 55th pick. Last summer, Bronny had a heart problem and played only a few minutes in his season at USC. Many people think he is not ready for the NBA.

In the Summer League games so far, Bronny’s defense has been good. But, he has had a hard time on offense. In four games in the California Classic and Las Vegas Summer Leagues, he made only 7 of his 31 shots. He missed all 15 of his 3-point shots.

On Monday night, the Lakers played against the Boston Celtics and lost. Bronny scored two points, had three rebounds, and one assist. He made 1 out of 5 shots. Jaylen Brown, the NBA Finals MVP, was watching the game. Cameras caught him saying that Bronny is not yet a pro player. Later, Brown went on social media to explain his comments. Brown is happy to see LeBron still playing and hopes Bronny does well. But he did not change his opinion much in his post.

Brown has the right to his thoughts. It is up to Bronny to prove him and others wrong with his game. So far, Bronny has not been able to do that.

The Lakers knew it would take time for Bronny to get better. He missed many chances to play last year because of his heart problem. Bronny is likely to spend most of his first season in the G League. He recently said he is fine with playing at any level.
