“When I think about Bron, the first thing that comes to mind is his recovery process,” Christie shared. “I mean, he’s been in the game for 20-21 years now, dominating every season. So, I couldn’t help but wonder, how does he recover so quickly? How does his body withstand the grind without breaking down? Watching him go through his routine with ice, saunas, treatments, massages, and all that, it’s been eye-opening. I try to incorporate as much of that into my own regimen, not by copying him but by adapting it to suit my needs.”
Christie emphasized the importance of maintaining mental resilience in addition to physical fitness, highlighting the mental challenges that come with being an NBA player.
Max Christie Has Proven Himse If Whenever He’s Given The Opportunity To Shine
“Everyone talks about the NBA season being a marathon, focusing on the physical toll it takes. But for me, the mental aspect is equally challenging,” Max Christie explained. “It’s not just about what happens on the court but also off it – the constant travel, the uncertainty of playing time. It’s tough, you know? Last year, after the trade deadline, I didn’t play at all. This year, I’ve carved out a bit more of a role, but it’s still a rollercoaster. Some games, I’m not sure if I’ll even get on the court, and then there are games where I’m playing significant minutes.”
Despite the uncertainties, Christie has proven himself whenever he’s given the opportunity to shine. In a recent game against the Philadelphia 76ers, he showcased his potential by scoring 11 points in 22 minutes, including two successful 3-pointers.
When Christie’s outside shot is on target, he becomes a valuable asset for the Los Angeles Lakers, contributing not only defensively but also on the boards, displaying a commendable two-way versatility.
